What is on our cosmetics

When it comes to choose among the huge variety of cosmetics in the market we find ourselves sometimes with a laborious task. As the largest organ of human bodies is the skin, it is extremely important to really explore what are the ingredients on the products we are using.  It is also known that some of the ingredients contained in our daily skin and hair care products are likely absorbed into our bloodstream. For instance, phthalates parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, and oxybenzone that are common ingredients used as preservatives in several personal care products. Some of these are precursors in developing health problems, in reducing fertility in men and women and even can cause some types of tumours, among others.

Would you consider checking all the labels from now on? The thing is that unless we are familiar with the wide number of terms on the products labels it can be a rather an unmanageable task. Why don't we look for product's alternatives?

The use of organic skin products which are free of hazardous substances, offer us a possibility to be sure that the products we are using are safe for our bodies and are less harmful for the environment too.

On this blog also a product review on an organic shampoo:
